Audrey and Rosemary chat with former Herdsman, Roy Lee, who worked for Eddie Mander at Holt Hall Farm for 30 years. They describe some of the projects and inventions that Eddie developed to reduce the workload, and the buildings he adapted and re-constructed on the farm. We hear how Audrey and the children all had a role. Audrey talks about Young Farmers where she and Eddie met.

Mick recalls his youth in North Warwickshire; his first job, the Young Farmers Club and local dances. After becoming a herdsman, Mick was employed at Shawbury Approved School, working with teenage boys, running the school dairy herd. He talks about the impact of the school in his time working and living there.

Arthur tells us about his father’s farm in Arley, recalling the shorthorn herd, pigs, poultry, working horses, the Ansley Hall estate, tuberculin testing, and potatoes; comparing this with his own mixed farm in later years.

John tells us how he has been involved in farming since his school days in Birmingham, training as an Agricultural Engineer with Glovers (later FH Burgess). We hear about the family milk round and about the contracting business that John set up.
